New Indian Laws Enacted in 2020

Abstract
In India it is not too much to say that the whole year of 2020 was spent to deal with COVID-19. However, at the same time, some important laws, such as Consumer Protection Act, three new Agricultural Acts and four new Labour Codes are enacted. These laws may have big influence on Indian economy and business activities in India. Particularly, protests are raised against Agricultural Acts and Labour Codes and they become social issue.
These laws could not be covered by the new book because they were not enacted when the book was drafted. In this seminar, I will introduce the contents and challenges of these new laws.

Outline of Indian Taxation and the Key Updates

Abstract
Briefing the taxation system and compliance in India, covering corporate tax, individual tax and goods and services tax (GST), with picking up some typical topics which Japanese companies are concerned about. Also sharing some key updates to understand the current Indian tax trend and compliance. One of the biggest business challenges in India is the tax issues because of some uncertainties around the system and operations. To address such challenges, presenting some case studies for better understanding.
