Title

IT Theorisation, Organising Visions and Field Change

Abstract

This study investigates the theorization of information technology within institutionalised fields, where technology threatens the very foundation of the institution. Drawing on a case study, this study demonstrates a process of successful IT theorisation, and contributes to the literature on IT institutionalization by enriching our knowledge of various theorisation activities. This research also offers a nuanced understanding of how organising visions are crafted to ensure the coexistence of disruptive innovation and traditional institutions.
