Workshop on Economic and Political Research on Latin America

Since the 1980s, Latin America has experienced democratization and liberal reform that has brought about economic growth but also severe ambiguity and social conflict. This "lab" conducts a diverse range of experiments aimed at solving these issues. This research aims to overcome regional conflict by conducting academic research from not only a political and economic perspective, but also from the fields of sociology, international relations, and the environmental studies. Academic research works to identify and establish the behavioral changes of leaders and players as well as the resulting conflict structure, as the common analytical framework for each field. Furthermore, this research focuses on comparative research with other regions and collaborations with foreign institutes.
