Topic Economic Policy and Micro Empirical Analysis
Abstract The importance of evidence-based policymaking has been highlighted in recent years. In order to promote evidence-based policymaking, accumulation of empirical studies utilizing micro data is essential. Against this background, the lecture overviews my recent empirical studies using firm-level micro data on, for example, firm organization, firm behavior, and productivity. Specifically, studies on headquarters functions and productivity, factoryless goods producers in Japan, uncertainty and investment, female representation in Japanese firms, impacts of artificial intelligence on businesses. In addition, preliminary findings from researches in progress will be presented for discussion.
