Measurement of GDP per capita and regional disparities in China, 1979-2009 |
| 概要 (Abstract) |
本稿では人口移動を考慮した省レベル人口データを用いて、1979年から2009年における省間一人あたりＧＤＰ格差を推計した。分析結果は以下の４点である。（１）先行研究は人口移動を反映しないデータを用いていたため、１９９０年代以降の省間経済格差を過大評価していた。（２）省間人口移動は省間経済格差を緩和する効果をもつ。（３）2005年ないしは2007年から省間経済格差は縮小している。（４）内モンゴル自治区や東部の一部の省の急成長によって、高経済省と低経済省の二極化が引き起こされた。 This paper analyzes provincial GDP per capita disparities in China from 1979 to 2009, using the provincial migration-modified data. The empirical results as follows: (1) Previous studies since the 1990s have overestimated inter-province disparities because their data don't reflect migration patterns; (2) inter-province migration has the effect of leveling inter-province disparities; (3) inter-province disparities decrease from 2005 or 2007; (4) rapid economic growth of I-Mongolia and of part of eastern region provinces caused bipolarization between High-economy provinces and Low-economy provinces. |
