日本特許のサイエンスリンケージに関する研究 Science linkages in technologies in Japan |
| 概要： (Abstract) |
特許が引用している科学論文を調査することにより、特許化された技術が科学
からどの程度影響を受けているかを計測することができる。この手法は、サイエ
ンスリンケージと呼ばれ、科学と技術の関係を調査するための手法として有効で
ある。本研究においては、日本特許の独自データベースを構築することによりバ
イオ、ナノテク、ＩＴ、環境の主要４技術分野におけるサイエンスリンケージを
計測した。さらに、引用されている論文の謝辞から、との国の技術が、どの国の
資金によってサポートされた科学に影響を受けてているかを調査した。最後に、
人手によって解析された引用情報を「教師」として、コンピュータープログラム
をチューニングすることにより、１９９５年から１９９９年までに成立した８８
万件の特許のサイエンスリンケージの全数調査を行い、国際特許分類上、どの技
術分野がサイエンスとのリンケージが強いかを明らかとした。 We constructed an original database concerning science linkages based on text of Japanese patent since 1994. Under the Japanese patent system, applicant is not required to disclose the prior art until 2002. It was considered as the patent examiner's job to check previous academic papers and patents. Therefore, we had to rely on the US. Patents filed by the Japanese applicants to examine how Japanese inventers use scientific knowledge. However, we discovered that Japanese inventers cite many academic papers in the texts of the patent applications in the Japanese Patent System as well. Based on this finding, we constructed science citation index by data mining the texts of Japanese patent system for the first time. First, more than 880,000 patent data classified into about 600 categories. Then, we extracted non-patent references from all the granted patents and counted the numbers of them. This number shows the strength of the linkage between science and technology and therefore is called "science linkage index." The science linkage index between different patent classifications differs significantly. It suggests that the process of creating new technology differs from technology to technology. The technologies related to bio -technology were by far the closest to science. |
